Tone correcting is something has become more popular, so it is no surprise that there are more tone correctors out in the market. I am a newbie to the tone correcting world but I really wanted to try it out and see if it actually works. Because I wanted to experiment with it, I decided to buy the $3 Tone Correcting Powder by e.l.f. Cosmetics.
If you read my May Favorites, then you will know that this is actually my second time buying this powder but this time I have a completely different opinion about this powder. The powder I bought is for lighter skin tones and the only directions on the package was to blend the powder to the face. For me those instructions were kind of like “duh, that’s obvious!” The first time I used this I did not now which color was for what and when I tried the individual colors, I did not see much of a difference. I eventually threw away the powder.
A few weeks ago, I wanted to give it another shot so I decided to go pick it up at Walmart. Before using it this time, though, I went on YouTube to see how to properly apply it on. The next morning, after applying my foundation and concealer, I applied all four colors to my face with a big powder brush and my skin looked amazing!! The way this tone corrector is supposed to be used is all around as a way to corrected your whole face, if that makes sense. I haven’t used it to corrected a precise problem but overall it makes my skin look amazing!!
My overall thoughts on this tone corrector is that is good for those that don’t have too much redness on the face or other problems. It corrects but slightly. I think if you want to correct more precise problems, like a zit or major dark circles (me!), then you would have to get a liquid tone corrector.
At $3, it is a great place to start in the tone correcting area and then going on from there. Right now it is something that I have been using daily but I do want to look into stronger tone correctors and see how those change my under eye area.
Have you ever used the e.l.f. Tone Correcting Powder? What are your thought on it?
