My hair is naturally curly and now I feel I have a great routine down for getting my best curls. While my hair isn’t super curly, it is more of a wavy curl and when I do style my hair correctly I get tons of compliments on my hair. I would also like to add that this is what works for me and because hair is always different, it is always good to experiment to see what works for you and what doesn’t. Keep reading to how I manage my natural curls. Enjoy!
I tend to wash my hair either everyday or every other day. I know some people recommend to go longer but I feel gross after one day of not washing my hair. My favorite shampoo and conditioner right now are the Pantene Curl Perfection set. This shampoo is supposed to define curls and also calm frizz. I have been using this since the summer time and it really does define my curls.
Right after I get out of the shower I spray my hair with the 12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment. I then apply a bit of the Pantene Curl Cream and the Parlor by Jeff Chastain Touchable Curl Cream. I make sure to on put a small amount so that it won’t weigh my hair down. I would also like to mention that the Pantene Curl Cream is only found in Mexico and I stock up whenever I go. I then comb my hair out with a wide tooth comb so that my hair won’t be tangle up.
I usually shower at night so I will sleep with my hair down and that really doesn’t mess up my hair. If I do shower during the day, I let me hair dry naturally then style it.
My curls aren’t curly enough for me to leave the front part of my hair curly so that is the part that I do expose to heat the most. Whenever I do this, I curl the front parts of my hair as I would if I were to curl my whole hair. I also use the Aussie Sprunch Mousse & Leave in Conditioner to tame any frizz that I have and give my hair some added sheen. Dry shampoo is also something I use when I feel the top of my hair looks flat or looks oily.
This is basically all I do to keep my curls. While it my hair may be easier to manage than others, it did take me a few years to get my natural curls the way I want them to be.
Here is a picture of my natural curls so you can see what they look like, like I said above, the front parts of my hair are straightened and curled.
I hope you found this a bit helpful and always remember to experiment because what may work for me may not work for you and vice versa.
